Yahoo that we know for a very long time has just been sold out to Verizon for $4.8 billion. This company that was once valued at $125 billion finally gave itself out for just $4.8 billion! Well, it is just business, some may say. It will interest you to know that years back, Yahoo had the opportunity to buy Facebook and Google for $1 billion each, but it passed it.
Its core services which include news, finance, email services, sport websites, and advertising tools have become Verizon’s.
Now the big question is what happens to our email addresses? Well, judging from what happened in 2015, when our new boss Verizon bought AOL, it merged all existing Verizon email customer accounts into AOL accounts. So it is likely what they might do now with Yahoo too.
This may mean that you have to re-register with AOL mail, but you will probably be able to maintain your @yahoo.com email address.
WHAT TO EXPECT
==> New login page
==> Upgrades in spam filtration
==> Virus protection, and many more.
For now, all you have to do is keep calm until you get notified for any migration to AOL if you are a yahoo email account holder.
